Dear Parents and Carers of Year 8 Students

GCSE Options

At this point in the year, Year 8 students begin the process of choosing the subjects that they would like to study for the next three years. In order to help young people to make these important decisions, we are holding our Options Information Evening on Thursday 5th March.

The evening will begin at 6pm with a short presentation in the Main Hall. Following this, you will be invited to hear from the various subject specialists and ask any questions that you may have. The all-important options form will be available during the evening and we ask that these forms are returned to us by Thursday 19th March so that we can begin the process of timetabling for next year.

I do hope that all Year 8 students and their parents and carers will be able to attend this important event but if you need any further help in the meantime, please feel free to contact Mr Carr, the Year 8 Leader at rcarr@axevalley.devon.sch.uk or myself, Mr Cumming, Assistant Headteacher responsible for our curriculum at kcumming@axevalley.devon.sch.uk

I look forward to welcoming you on the 5th.

Yours faithfully

K Cumming
Assistant Headteacher
