On Tuesday 28th April the year 7 ASPIRE Art students were invited to take part in a Pyrography workshop led by Axminster Tools and Machinery. Pyrography is the process of producing designs on wood, leather or other materials using a heated tool. The two hour workshop was led by Ben Beddows and was held in the training centre on Millwey Rise Industrial Estate. Students practised how to mark make using different nibs on the pyrography pens before burning their artwork onto wood. Learning this new skill proved to be tricky at first, however, all the students produced a piece of art to be proud of by the end of the session.
