Met Office Science Camp – Friday 16th and Saturday 17th May

On Friday 16th May ASPIRE General students started a weekend of science fun at the Met Office in Exeter.  The Science Camp, now in its third year, for year 7 students took them on an educational journey through weather as they worked with professionals from the Met Office throughout Friday evening and Saturday morning.  Students took part in workshops that included climate change, air, weather hazards and even made clouds in bottles.  They saw the super computer that runs beneath the building and had the chance to present the weather in the Met Office TV studio.  Overnight students and staff camped out in tents before a question and answer session on Saturday morning with Met Office staff to see who had the best job.  Thank you to Ms MacDonagh and Mr Brookman for all their help during the weekend and a huge well done to the year 7 ASPIRE students for their excellent questions throughout the event that showed their enthusiasm for the subjects discussed.
