Year 8 Options 2019

Posted: 14 February 2019

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 8 Students

GCSE Options

At this point in the year, Year 8 students begin the process of choosing the subjects that they would like to study for the next three years. In order to help young people to make these important decisions, we are holding our Combined Parents’ and Options Information Evening on Tuesday 5th  March.

The evening will begin at 4:30pm with a short presentation in the Main Hall (this will be repeated at 6:00pm in conference room for those who are unable to attend the 4:30pm presentation). Following this, you will be able to speak with the various subject specialists by making an appointment through the Parent Evening booking system https://axevalley.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/. The booking system will open for bookings from 7pm on Monday 18th February until 7pm on Sunday 3rd March.

The all-important options form will be available during the evening and we ask that these forms are returned to us by Tuesday 19th March so that we can begin the process of timetabling for next year.

I do hope that all Year 8 students and their parents and carers will be able to attend this important event but if you need any further help in the meantime, please feel free to contact Mr Carr, the Year 8 Leader at rcarr@axevalley.devon.sch.uk or myself, Mr Cumming, Assistant Headteacher responsible for our curriculum at kcumming@axevalley.devon.sch.uk

I look forward to welcoming you on the 5th.

Yours faithfully

K Cumming
Assistant Headteacher
