ASPIRE Sixth Performing Arts Trip
On Thursday 12th November ASPIRE Sixth and A’level performing arts students spent a day interviewing staff in the Arts industry in Exeter. Starting at the Exeter Phoenix students interviewed Anna Aroussi, Learning Manager for Visual Art & Digital Media. They also had the chance to speak to the gallery manager and lighting technicians at the venue. Following this they visited The Cavern to see how owning and running differs from other music venues. Pippa Wragg gave the students some inspiring tips including her analogy:
Getting into the music industry is like sunbathing; to get a tan you immerse yourself in the sun, with the music industry you have to do the same thing. Fill your life with it and you will find your path to your future.
Students finished the day at specialist guitar shop, Project Music. Here students were given the chance to play and sing and ask questions related to getting started in the music trade from a shop/business with both a website and high-street presence.
