Welcome
Outstanding GCSE results
Year 11 students have achieved outstanding results – significantly above previous records. 76% achieved 5A*-C (previous best was 69% in 2009) and 66% achieved 5A*-C with English and Maths (previous best was 54% in 2008). Both measures are signicantly above national averages. For a full report go to News and Events section.
Inspectors judge Axe Valley to be a ‘good’ school
We are delighted with the inspection report, which you can read in the News and Events section. Through a relentless focus on raising standards and improvement we have moved to good from satisfactory, even though the new Ofsted framework introduced in September 2009 makes this much harder to do. We are a deeply ambitious college with the long term aim of being ‘outstanding in every way’; this report confirms that we are heading in the right direction to achieve this in the future.
The inspection report recognises the tremendous work of staff, governors, students and parents who have all played key roles in bringing about improvement. I would personally like to thank staff for their dedication, professionalism and sheer hard work and also our students who consistently impress visitors with their positive values, good behaviour and friendly, caring manner.
